Male sterility is also commonly known as impotency. Male sterility is characterized by the inability of the male to beget offspring. Male sterility creates problems in married life.
HAVE AN OPEN MIND
The inability to beget children can also be due to problems on the side of the female. Hence it is necessary that each partner has an open mind and consult the physician and also undergo the various tests as to where the problem lies.
DEFECT TYPES
The root of the problem can be either functional or organic or at times a combination of both the factors.
MALE STERILITY: WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?
Male sterility generally happens when the semen lacks the required number of active sperms. This happens due to certain morbidity causes.
IMPORTANT POINT
Mentionably, the Ayurvedic treatment is effective only when the sperms in the semen are inactive or are few in number. Such a condition gets remedied quickly.
However, if the semen does not contain any sperm, the condition cannot be treated.
HOW DOES PROCREATION TAKE PLACE?
For procreation purposes, two factors are significant: First, there must be sufficient numbers of sperms in the semen; secondly, the sperms should be active.
Interestingly, in normal cases, just one of the sperms (following ejaculation) succeeds in fertilizing the mature ovum within the woman’s vagina. This fertilized ovum grows into the foetus and the baby.
The sperm in the male’s semen is the primary procreative agent. The sperms are produced in the testicles. They are ejaculated via the male genital organ during sexual intercourses.
Sperm production is regulated by hormones which are secreted by the ductless glands.
APHRODISIACS
The patients are tendered sex stimulants. These are known as aphrodisiacs. They aid the production of active sperms.
DIETARY REGIMEN
People suffering from this dysfunction are prescribed food items having astringent and sweet tastes.
Such patients should regularly have cow’s milk, butter and ghee prepared from cow’s milk.
Similarly, such patients can have meat and eggs.
WHAT NOT TO EAT
- These people must not consume items that have bitter, pungent, sour and saline tastes.
- They should not also have too much elachi.
OTHER IMPORTANT POINTS
- Such people should not use soaps prepared from the neem tree.
- Too much indulgence in sex is harmful.
- Hence, practise restrain in sex.
